Chelsea FC Blog's Matt the Blue lists the Chelsea players that will go to the summer tournament in France. @diego.costa For a player who scored plenty of goals in the Premier League last season, this season has been a fairly disappointing one for the Spanish striker. This season has been marred by injuries, controversies and suspensions for Costa, so he will be hoping to lay the foundation of next season with a commanding performance in France. @hazardeden_10 From being the PFA Player of the Year in the 2014/15 season to practically being a passenger this time around, it is safe to assume that Hazard won’t dwell too much on this season’s performances. Belgium, however, are the dark horses going into this competition, but you would think Hazard will have to be at his best if Belgium want to do justice to their (current) number 2 spot in the FIFA Rankings. @garyjcahill Ever since the arrival of Hiddink, playing time has been reduced for our Englishman making just 9 appearances since Jose was sacked in December. However, if you think that lack of game time might hamper his chances of a spot at the Euros with England, a mere glance at the plans of Roy Hodgson should straighten your views. Hodgson clearly holds Cahill in high regard and he is likely to form a pairing with Chris Smalling in the heart of England’s defence. Worth a goal for club and country too! @cescf4bregas If there is one Chelsea player who seems to have benefited the most from the change of managers this season, it it is arguably Fabregas. Of the 7 assists and 5 goals that he has contributed to Chelsea this season, all but 2 of those assists have come after Jose Mourinho was sacked. Del Bosque will no doubt be hoping Cesc will bring the same form with him to the Spanish side in the summer. @thibautcourtois There might be rumours that are linking Courtois to Real Madrid, Juventus and anyone else who will listen, but our Belgian stopper is still a Chelsea player for the time being. Like Hazard, Courtois will be central to the plans of his country and manager. by soccerlifesports5
